Destination Bodrum, Pamukkale and Kos part 1

I am blessed with having a family apartment in Turkey available to travel to whenever I want, and that is where my friend and I ended up going to at the beginning of this month. Finally getting a little taste of the summer weather that I'd say is slowly coming around here these days. Although I'd give it close to a month to reach the heat we had over there.

Bodrum or more spesifically Yalikavak where our apartment is located is a beautiful place.

We were lucky with the weather so we got to lick some sun and enjoy ourselves - although there was one cloudy and rainy day, but even that day was used productive.

I  can honestly say I have one word associated to that trip "SPOILED".. as in.. I got spoiled.

We did have a problem the night we arrived with the water, but we hired some workers the next day that came and fixed it and Voilá everything was sorted for a lovely adventure with good food, drinks and tours.
One thing that's safe to say is that the Turkish people knows how to sell. Walking into town the first day we came across a sign from a distance where it said: "Free Beer" with big letters, but as we came in closer you could see what it actually said: FREE Wifi, Great BEER. Hehe.

First day we went to a restaurant that an irish woman and her turkish husband runs. I've already eaten there once before and enjoyed the meal, so it was the first place in mind when dining out. I enjoyed a lovely fillet. Perfectly made - which is also why it was the last place to dine out at the night before we left.

We were out on a bar two night where we enjoyed one of the umbrella drinks they had on the menu called "The Caribbean sea". They said it was their own recipe although I have yet to google it.. I just got one word... Yummy!! and like most place you also get free wifi while sitting there - even though it may not be the fastest connection.

Personally I  love it when it gets a bit darker with all the lights around, it just feels so cozy. So when walking home one day I had to take a snapshot of this.

Took some more pictures on the way home that day.

Also took some picture in Yalikavak centrum while having some turkish tea the night before we left. It was the same day we had one of our sightseeing tour around in Yalikavak with a private driver that I will post about later. It just felt so nice and relaxing. I miss it already.

Happy birthday Norway!

Yesterday I came home rather late after a long walk. I'd say part goal 2 is accomplished. Walked about 35 km in total, but not all at once as I had about 3-4 hours visiting some friends at the destination I was walking to in between before heading back - the road back I had actually planned to take the bus but I bit my teeth together and though why not. Sore under my feet, but lovely accomplishment and after slacking off enjoying the spoiled life for a little while it was needed to get that sweat running.. Gotta burn those calories. Hehe.

After lying in bed a little while after I woke up I heard the doorbell ringing. Contemplating just staying there as I thought it's probably the mail man/woman. Then the thought of walking down to the post to get the package hit me, and the idea wasn't too tempting... I put my shorts on and opened with tired eyes... And who did I see... Awww... My little buttercup with a smile on her face. My friend and daughter came to drag me out... It's time to celebrate our national day with some ice cream... Ice cream for breakfast? Hmm.. Okay.. lol

Found this old bike when walking around with a teeny tiny Norwegian flag on it, so we of course had to take a snap shot of it.

Later today there will be some meet up for the Norwegians here in Sweden playing some games, grilling and eating some hot dogs etc.

Also got stopped by a woman on our way home. Offered us free face treatment etc this Sunday for some free PR if we wanted to. So we'll see what we'll do.

Ciao!

Spontaneous...

After a surprise call from an old workmate that lives in Norway a little over a week ago where we ended up talking together over 10 hours straight,  half made vacation plans had popped up in our mind. Normally it stays with the talk, but low and behold the next day the trip was booked and I had the rest of the day to pack. Something that had my system running high on both stress and excitement - to get away and meet my friend again. I would have preferred to have at least a week to take things in and stay calm while packing and think things through. Hehe. I suppose you learn in these situations how your system runs. I've always liked the idea of being spontaneous, but when it came down to it I know this is something I probably will not do again unless I am already ready packed and trying to catch a trip on chance - which means there will still be some preparation.

Regardless it's a memory for life and I don't regret it for one second. Adventures that will be treasured for sure and some quality time with my friend.

I will write a little about the trip and add pictures of some of the adventures a bit later when I get home and have time to go through the pictures etc.

Until then I will keep enjoying the warm climate!
